2026 - Follow Me

Every day, students are told to follow. “Follow directions.” “Follow your heart.” “Follow for more content!” From parents, to teachers, to influencers, to giant corporations, it seems like everyone is vying for their time and attention. And as students follow more things, their attention is diluted, their commitment watered down, and their hearts fractured. “Following” has become an easy, thoughtless practice, requiring little more than the click of a button.

But long before we all tracked our own number of followers, Jesus offered a simple invitation to a group of fishermen: “Follow me.” And while they had a lot to learn, they understood that following this Jesus would change their lives forever.

This year at the ONE Conference, join us as we trace the life of Peter and see what it means to be a follower of Jesus. We’ll see his first steps as a follower, the wrong turns he makes, and how he finds his way back to Jesus, all while considering what it looks like for us to be followers of Jesus today.

YOU are a Follower.

Any kind of follower will memorize, sacrifice, meditate, identify, and imitate whoever they are following.

We may think of this as something that only happened back in Bible times, but it turns out that we all life our lives as a follower of something (or someone...)

WHO are you Following?

If we are all following something, the next question is who?

What things or qualities make you want to follow a person or a trend? Does Jesus have those same qualities? What reasons do we have to follow Jesus? Are there differences in the reasons we follow trends and the reasons we follow Jesus?

Following Jesus brings NEW Life and NEW Purpose.

We are made NEW through Jesus. This is a free gift. Notice that when Peter swam to shore, he tried to convince Jesus of all the things he could do. “Jesus look at the fish we caught! I’ll make you breakfast!” He completely missed that Jesus had already prepared breakfast for him, as a gift. The same is true today. He has prepared “breakfast” for us today. He has salvation ready for us! Will we say yes?
